Progression Bikes Racing is a racing team based in Dunkeld, Perthshire. The team comprises of 14 members, male and female between ages 12 – 35, therefore races in all categories in Enduro and Downhill disciplines. The team members race mainly in the UK (SDA and BDS events for downhill and SES for enduro), however a couple of the racers have also competed internationally in Leogang.
Progression Bikes Racing (PBR) supports the team at the race events, namely by providing pits for relaxing, food and warmth, as well as bikes, bike parts, race kit and a mechanic.
The team was selected by submitting a race CV, details of experience in racing events and a short summary about why they wanted to join the team.
A number of individuals were chosen after demonstrating excelling skills and potential in Progression Bikes bike camps, which run each year in the Easter, summer and autumn school holidays.
Results and aims for the future
PBR has had a massively successful year with podium finishes at almost every event attended so far; the team aims to continue to do well at races, with more podium finishes, race support and attend more events outside Scotland.
As well as good results for the team itself, PBR aims to give back to the biking community. Smaller, non-branded teams are supported by PBR at racing events, and team members are part of the Dunkeld scene of trail building and maintenance.
The team members of PBR work together at events to discuss tactics and line choice, as well as improve timing.
